On July 3, Chinese Ambassador Jin Zhijian met with Mr. Gauti Jóhannesson, Mayor of Djúpivogur, in the Chinese Embassy in Iceland. They exchanged views on enhancing exchanges and cooperation between both sides.
Ambassador Jin happily recalled his attendance of “Rolling Snowball” Art Opening Ceremony held in Djúpivogur in 2018, and spoke highly of the exhibition’s positive role in promoting cultural exchanges between the two countries. He asked about the economic and social impacts with COVID-19 in the local community, and stressed that both sides should further expand cooperation on exports of Icelandic fishery products to China, tourism, infrastructure and other fields.
Mr. Jóhannesson thanked the Embassy for its longstanding support to the exhibition in the past years, and looked forward to more cooperation in trade, people-to-people exchanges and tourism.
