On Feb 22, Chinese Embassy in Iceland appointed the Icelandic Overseas Chinese Association as consular assistance volunteer organization. Ambassador Jin Zhijian addressed and issued the certificate. More than 20 representatives from the association attended the event.
Ambassador Jin said that the Embassy has always attached great importance to consular protection and prioritized it as on one of our important missions to safeguard the security and legitimate rights and interests of Chinese citizen in Iceland. Consular assistance volunteer system is an effective practice with people-centered approach. It has great significance to improve the consular protection network to a higher level. For many years, the Icelandic Chinese Overseas Association has offered great support to the Embassy and he believed that the association would continue to play its positive role with the new appointment.
Li Tong, Chairman of the association, thanked the Embassy for the great trust and express that all members of the association would dutifully assist the consular protection work under the leadership of the Embassy.
