On September 27, Ambassador He Rulong attended the opening ceremony of “2026 Chinese Film Festival in Iceland” and delivered a speech. More than 200 people attended the event, including Ms. Ma Jia, President of China Movie Channel and representatives from the Icelandic Government, Parliament and friendly organizations such as the Icelandic-Chinese Cultural Society (KÍM) and the Icelandic-Chinese Trade Council (ÍKV), diplomatic envoys in Iceland, and Chinese living or studying in Iceland.

Ambassador He Rulong emphasized in his speech that film is a window onto a country's spirit and culture, and also a bond connecting different civilizations. Chinese President Xi Jinping put forward the Global Civilization Initiative, advocating respect and dialogue and building bridges for different civilizations to enhance understanding and trust. Icelandic friends are welcome to visit China and see China in their own eyes, so that encounters on the screen can continue as exchanges in daily life.

After the screening, the creative team of All WISHES COME TRUE interacted with the audience, and the atmosphere was lively.

This film festival is hosted by Chinese Embassy in Iceland and the China Film Administration, co-organized by the Movie Channel and KÍM. A total of five films, including All WISHES COME TRUE and Dear You will be screened. All proceeds of the ticket sale are to be donated to the Beluga Whale Sanctuary in Vestmannaeyjar.
