Ambassador He Rulong visited the Icelandic National Broadcasting Service (RÚV) on September 8, 2026. Guided by RÚV Director-General Stefán Eiríksson, Ambassador He toured the studios, recording rooms and other production facilities, and had a friendly exchange with Mr. Eiríksson. Counsellor Yang Jing of the Embassy also joined the visit.

Ambassador He said that this was his second visit to the RÚV. As Iceland's most influential and trusted broadcaster, RÚV serves as an important window through which the Icelandic public communicates with the world and learns about China. This year marks the 55th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Iceland, and direct flights between the two countries are soon to be launched. China stands ready to take this opportunity to further deepen exchanges between media sectors of the two countries and continue to increase friendship between the two peoples.

Director-General Eiriksson welcomed Ambassador He and his team and gave a detailed introduction to RÚV's functions and operations. He said that, as China is witnessing rapid economic and social development, the interest in China among the Icelandic public is steadily growing. RÚV is willing to strengthen cooperation with the Chinese Embassy and the Chinese media organizations to increase cultural exchanges between China and Iceland and to enhance mutual understanding between the two peoples.
