On April 12, the Northern Lights Confucius Institute of the University of Iceland hosted the 2026 “Chinese Bridge” Chinese Language Proficiency Competition for College and Secondary School Students and the Chinese Language Show for Primary School Students. Ambassador He Rulong delivered a speech and presented awards to the winners. Counselor Yang Jing attended the event and acted as one of the judges.

Ambassador He commended the students for their strong enthusiasm for learning the Chinese language and culture, which had played an important role in the development of China-Iceland relations. The contestants demonstrated talents such as Chinese speaking, singing, dancing and instrument performance, which had won rounds of applause from the audience. The event also featured interactive experiences, including Han costumes, calligraphy, and shuttlecock, allowing participants to immerse themselves in the charm of Chinese culture.
