Ambassador He highlighted that President Tómasdóttir's visit to China for the Global Leaders' Meeting on Women and her meeting with Chinese President Xi Jinping was of great significance. He emphasized that the signing of the joint statement on strengthening geothermal energy and green transition cooperation, the protocol on exports of Icelandic wild aquatic products to China, and the renewal of the bilateral currency-swap arrangement have injected new impetus into the practical cooperation between the two countries. As next year marks the 55th anniversary of diplomatic relations between China and Iceland, we stand ready to take advantage of the head-of-state diplomacy as a new starting point to further deepen friendly cooperation and bring more benefits to the two countries and two peoples.
