On Dec 10, Chinese Ambassador Jin Zhijian took video interview with Mr. Olivier Truc, producer and reporter from French documentary channel, and answered the questions on China' Arctic policy, China Iceland relations, Arctic environmental protection,new sea route development, utilizing Arctic resources, China's investment in the Arctic countries and other relevant issues.
Ambassador Jin pointed out that as an important stakeholder in Arctic affairs, China's policy goals on the Arctic cooperation are to understand, protect, develop and participate in the governance of the Arctic, and to promote peace, stability and sustainable development in the Arctic region. China's participation in the Arctic affairs will bring opportunities rather than threat. The relevant parties should make objective judgment based on facts rather than assumptions and malicious interpretation.
