On Feb 5, Chinese Ambassador Jin Zhijian took interview with reporter from German National Radio Broadcaster (Deutschlandfunk), and answered questions on China' Arctic Policy and relevant questions.
Ambassador Jin pointed out that as a Near-Arctic State, China is an important stakeholder in Arctic affairs. China's policy goals on the Arctic are to understand, protect, develop and participate in the governance of the Arctic, and to promote peace, stability and sustainable development in the Arctic region. China is willing to work together with all relevant parties to participate in the Arctic affairs on the basic principles of "respect, cooperation, win-win result and sustainability", and to enhance cooperation on scientific research, addressing climate change, building Polar Silk Road, environmental protection and utilizing Arctic resources in a lawful and rational manner.
