On November 12, Ambassador Jin Zhijian paid a visit to National and Universtiy Liberary of Iceland, and met with Ms. Ingibjörg Steinunn Sverrisdóttir, National and Universtiy Librarian to discuss future cooperation.
Ambassador Jin listened to the introduction of the National and Universtiy liberary of Iceland, and spoke highly of its important role in promoting cultural and educational exchanges between China and Iceland. Ambassador Jin stressed taht the embassy was willing to explore new fields and ways of cooperate with the liberary on the exsiting basis, so as to promote the bilatral relations for further development.
Ms. Sverrisdóttir welcomed Ambassador's visit. She vividly recalled that the liberay and the Chinese Embassy had co-hosted a book exhibition on China in 2016 to mark the 45th anniversary of the establishment of the diplomatic relations between China and Iceland. She assured that the liberary was willing to work together with the embassy and the Chinese liberaries and publishing houses and contribute to the strengthened cultural exchanged between the two countries and enhanced friendship between the two peoples.
