Chinese Ambassador to Iceland Jin Zhijian visits Grindavík

On October 30, Chinese Ambassador Jin Zhijian visited Grindavík. Mayor Fannar Jónasson welcomed Ambassador Jin's visit, briefed him of the development of Grindavík, and accompanied him to visit some local enterprises such as ORF Genetics (Bioeffect), Visir hf(fishing and processing company), Marine Collagen, HS Orka(power plant) and Blue Lagoon. Both sides had a deep discussion on issues including further strengthening bilateral cooperation in the fields of geothermal energy, fishery, tourism and so on.

Grindavík is a harbor town on the south west coast of Iceland, next to the Atlantic Ocean, approximately 50 km from the capital city Reykjavík. The town enjoys rich resources of geothermal energy, tourism and fishery with about 3300 inhabitants.
