Chinese Delegation Attends the 7th Arctic Circle Assembly

From October 10 to 13, the 7th Arctic Circle Assembly was held in Reykjavik, Iceland. Chinese Ambassador Jin Zhijian, Mr. Gao Feng, special representative for the Arctic Affairs of Ministry of Foreign Affairs of China, delegation of Ministry of Natural Resources of China, delegation of Qinghai Province as well as other Chinese experts and scholars attended the Assembly. Mr. Gao Feng delivered the speech entitled Asia and the Arctic are Inseparable and Reinforce Each Other in the session of "Asia and the Arctic". In his remarks, Mr. Gao Feng introduced the policies and positions of China in Arctic affairs, as well as the measures taken by the Chinese government to address climate change, ocean garbage and environmental protection, and answered questions on site.

During the Assembly, the Chinese Embassy in Iceland and Ministry of Natural Resources of China co-organized the Chinese Arctic Research Expeditions Exhibition in the Assembly venue. The exhibition introduced the latest information on the research expeditions of China in the Arctic, and received positive feedback from the Assembly's participants.
