On January 22, the Chinese Embassy in Iceland co-hosted a Seminar on Sino-Icelandic Tourism with Promote Iceland, the Icelandic Chinese Trade Council(IKV), Icelandic Tourist Board, Icelandic Federation of Trade & Services(SVTH), Icelandic Travel Industry Association(SAF), Ambassador Jin Zhijian attended the seminar and delivered a keynote speech.
Ambassador Jin introduced the fast development of China’s economy and tourism industry and major features of Chinese tourists, which create important opportunities to Icelandic tourism development. Ambassador Jin put forward some suggestions on further improvement of service for Chinese tourists in Iceland, and stressed that it is the main responsibility of the Embassy to provide Chinese tourists with convenient service and necessary assistance, safeguarding their personal and property safety. The Embassy would like to work together with Icelandic relevant authorities and tourism circle, to continually improve service for the Chinese tourists visiting Iceland.
Mrs. Jonina Bjartmarz, Chairperson of IKV chaired the Seminar. Representatives from Icelandair and tourism companies delivered speeches, and nearly 300 representatives from tourism industry were present at the event.
