On March 19, the leading Icelandic newspaper Morgunblaðið carried an article by Ambassador He Rulong entitled “China's Annual Political Event Has A Relevance to Iceland”.
According to the article, China's economy achieved a 5% growth rate last year, contributing nearly 30% of the world economic growth. Looking into the year ahead, China had set another economic growth target of around 5% and will continue to comprehensively advance Chinese modernization with high-quality development, creating broader opportunities for China-Iceland economic and trade cooperation.
China will stay committed to an independent foreign policy of peace and to the path of peaceful development. China will remain firm in opposing hegemonism and power politics, oppose unilateralism and protectionism in all forms, and uphold international fairness and justice. China is ready to promote an equal and orderly multipolar world and universally beneficial and inclusive economic globalization, pursue the Global Development Initiative, the Global Security Initiative, and the Global Civilization Initiative. In doing so, China will promote the building of a community with a shared future for mankind.
