On February 6, Ambassador He Rulong and his wife were invited to attend the Spring Festival celebration dinner for the Year of the Snake co-hosted by the Icelandic Chinese Trade Council (ÍKV) and the Icelandic Chinese Cultural Society (Kím), where he delivered a keynote speech.
Ambassador He Rulong briefed on China's economic and social achievements over the past year, as well as the favorable development momentum of China-Iceland relations. He expressed appreciation and gratitude for the contributions of both ÍKV and Kím in promoting bilateral cooperation and enhancing people-to-people friendship. He also extended New Year's greetings to all the guests.
Jonina Bjartmarz, Chair of ÍKV and Arnar Steinn Thorsteinsson, Chair of Kím, delivered speeches. Sveinn K. Einarsson from the Ministry for Foreign Affairs, shared his fond memories of living and working in China.
Nearly 60 guests attended the event, including Kristin A. Arnadottir, former Ambassador to China, and members and their families from ÍKV and Kím. Guests enjoyed traditional Chinese instrumental performances, savored authentic Chinese cuisine, and sang together to conclude the event. The atmosphere was warm and filled with New Year's joy and blessings.
