To celebrate the Chinese New Year of the Snake and showcase the charm of traditional Chinese culture, Ms. Shen Ting, wife of Chinese Ambassador to Iceland and Head of the Women's Group of the Chinese Embassy invited an art troupe from Shanxi Province to present a unique and captivating cultural performance at Landakotsskóli on 24 January. Zhang Zhiren, Deputy Director of the Shanxi Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism, and Yang Jing, Counselor of the Chinese Embassy in Iceland, attended the event.

The performance was a feast of Chinese traditional art, with lively interactions and standing applauses and cheers from the audience. The joyful melodies of the Suona, the delicate emotions conveyed by the Erhu, and the powerful rhythms of the drums deeply moved the students. Magic and acrobatic performances won bursts of amazement, while the interactive sing-along of an Icelandic song created a warm and friendly vibe.

Jenny McKeown, Head of International Department of Landakotsskóli expressed heartfelt gratitude to the embassy for the meticulous organization and to the performers for their outstanding show, which presented the students with a valuable opportunity to experience the beauty of traditional Chinese culture. She also expressed hopes for continued collaboration and cultural exchanges in the future.
