On April 17, 2024, Ambassador He Rulong and the embassy’s Running Team participated in the “Embassy Run” held by the Ministry for Foreign Affairs of Iceland. Before the start of the race, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry for Foreign Affairs Martin Eyjólfsson gave his thanks to runners from various missions for participating in this event for diplomatic corps. 

Director General of the Directorate for International Affairs and Policy of the Ministry for Foreign Affairs María Mjöll Jónsdóttir led the group of about 40 runners including the Norwegian Ambassador to Iceland and colleagues from the Ministry for Foreign Affairs. The running route passes through every diplomatic mission in Iceland and is 10 kilometres in total. After the run, the Deputy Permanent Secretary of the Ministry for Foreign Affairs Anna Jóhannesdóttir held an after-run party for everyone to share running experiences.

The entire team of the Chinese Embassy cheered for the runners in front of the embassy building, welcoming them with sport supplements and souvenirs.

The “Embassy Run” is an annual spring outdoor activity held by the Ministry for Foreign Affairs of Iceland. This year is the first time it has been held since the Covid-19.
