On February 5, Ambassador He Rulong hosted a roundtable with Tsinghua University FÖRUM Delegation. Mr. Illugi Gunnarsson, former Minister of Education, Science and Culture and Ms. Thelma Harðardóttir, leader of local Green Party attended the event.

Ambassador He welcomed Tsinghua University FÖRUM delegation and congratulated them on the outcome of their research in environmental protection practices of Iceland. Ambassador He indicated that Iceland has the most unique natural and geographical conditions in the world and boasts advanced experience in the field of environment and energy. He wished that students would make greater contribution to the public cause of environmental protection. Mr. Gunnarsson and Ms. Harðardóttir shared with them Icelandic ideas in environmental protection and environmental cooperation between Iceland and China, in addition to their experiences of visiting China.

During the Q＆A session, Tsinghua University students discussed with the ambassador and Embassy staff as well as Icelandic friends on environmental protection practices of Iceland, energy policy, circular economy, electric vehicles and other hotspot issues, in a very warm atmosphere and in a very informative way.
