On November 29, the Embassy of China in Iceland and Icelandic Chinese Cultural Society (KÍM) jointly hosted a symposium and briefing marking the 70th anniversary of KÍM in House of Collections. Ambassador He Rulong attended the event and delivered a speech. Chairman of KÍM Arnar Steinn Þorsteinsson, member of Parliament,  former chairmen and members of KÍM, former ambassadors of Iceland to China, Icelandic friends from the cultural and economic circle as well as representatives of youth and media attended the event.

Ambassador He said in his speech that cultural exchanges have always been a bridge facilitating communication between peoples of China and Iceland. Over the past 70 years, KÍM has served as a bridge connecting our two cultures, making great contribution to the development of our bilateral relations. He wishes KÍM greater development and still more achievements in the next 70 years.

Chairman of KÍM Arnar Steinn Þorsteinsson said that KÍM has been facilitating cultural exchanges between the two countries over the years and is willing to further contribute to better understanding of China in Iceland.

Ambassador He held a discussion with the board members of KÍM before the event and presented awards to former chairmen of KÍM at the event.
