On February 14, Ambassador He Rulong visited the Institute of International Affairs of the University of Iceland and met with its Director Pia Elísabeth Hansson. The two sides exchanged views on strengthening cooperation between China and Iceland in the field such as international affairs research.

Ambassador He said that despite the fact that China and Iceland are different in size and national conditions, the two countries have many in common in area such as development. The Embassy is willing to further deepen its ties with the Institute and help the Icelandic people form a comprehensive perception on China, and expects the Institute to continue to play an active role in people-to-people exchanges between China and Iceland.

Director Hansson warmly welcomed Ambassador He and briefed the latter on the basic situation of the Institute of International Affairs of the University of Iceland, its projects and the cooperation with Chinese academic institutions. Director Hansson also expressed her willingness to strengthen exchanges with the Embassy to facilitate the mutual understanding between the two countries and two peoples.
