On November 23, Ambassador He Rulong met with Icelandic Minister of Food Svandís Svavarsdóttir. The two sides exchanged views on strengthening bilateral cooperation in areas such as food, fishery and agriculture.

After briefing on the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, Ambassador He said that China-Iceland relations have enjoyed sound and steady development as the practical cooperation in various areas continued to be advanced. China is willing to further strengthen cooperation with Iceland in area such as food, agriculture and fishery, and welcomes more Icelandic high-quality food as well as fishery and agricultural products entering Chinese market. Ambassador He also introduced China's social welfare system and epidemic prevention policies upon request.

Minister Svavarsdóttir thanked Ambassador He for his introduction on China and expressed her willingness to strengthen communication and cooperation with the Embassy of China in Iceland to jointly promote the further development of bilateral practical cooperation.
