On April 14, 2022, Ambassador He Rulong met with Chairman Li Tong and members of the Chinese Association in Iceland.

Ambassador He spoke highly of the Association’s strong support to the Embassy and its contribution to promoting the people-to-people exchanges between China and Iceland over the past years. During COVID-19, the Association assisted the Embassy in distributing “Health Kits” and “Spring Festival Packages”, conveying the good wishes of the Communist Party of China and the Chinese government to the Chinese compatriots in Iceland. The Embassy is appreciative of that. As the epidemic situation is easing and various industries start to recover in Iceland, hopefully, the Association will continue to unite overseas Chinese in Iceland, carry forward the spirit of unity and mutual assistance, and support China in its second centenary goal of achieving the Chinese dream of the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation.

On behalf of the Association, Chairman Li Tong warmly welcomed Ambassador He to his new post, and expressed his sincere gratitude to the Embassy for its attention to and support for the Association and the overseas Chinese in Iceland. Li Tong said he will continue to unite the overseas Chinese in Iceland and make contributions to the nation building and the friendship between China and Iceland.
