On April 28, 2022, Ambassador He Rulong visited the Icelandic National Broadcasting Service (RÚV) and met with Director General Stefán Eiríksson and celebrated reporter and broadcaster Bogi Ágústsson.

Ambassador He said that, RÚV stands as the most influential and trusted radio and television media in Iceland, which can play a significant role in promoting cultural exchanges between China and Iceland. The Chinese Embassy is willing to further strengthen exchanges with RÚV and better introduce China to the Icelandic people.

Stefán and Bogi warmly welcomed Ambassador He and detailed the development of RÚV, expressing that RÚV is willing to boost exchanges and cooperation with the Chinese media to enhance mutual understanding between the two peoples.

Stefán and Bogi also guided Ambassador He for a tour of RÚV’s programming and production divisions, and they observed the recording of a TV program.

Founded in 1930, RÚV is a state-owned media company that provides nationwide radio, television and website services in Iceland. A survey shows that about 95% of Icelanders use services provided by RÚV on a weekly basis.
